AlexSyberiaDesign May Digi Stamp Release Blog Hop + Giveaway

D85FD323-48BE-40C8-AF12-4EB27E3A3B1B

Hello, I am very excited today because today is Alex Syberias May release, she has done it again, giving us a release full of beauty and wonder and if that wasn’t enough its her first blog hop, I’m so honored to be joining in. You should be arriving here from Tina Wilstrup’s blog, but if not I invite you to start with Alex as to not miss a single design in this gorgeous collection! I promise you wont be disappointed!

I created three cards from this stunning collection, I took a more traditional approach. I truly hope you enjoy and are as inspired by Alex as I am.

Sweet Gardenia

To create this card I printed the gardenia on Canson XL 110 lb water color paper. All three of the cards today are A2 size cards measuring 4 1/4 x 5 1/2. All of these images are now available in Alex Syberias Etsy Store. I used Altenew Artist grade watercolors and their Metallic Watercolors to paint this glorious flower! I stamped the black card stock panel using Altenews Pattern Play Diamond background stamp using Ink on 3 clear embossing ink. This gave a tone on tone effect allowing the gardenia to be the focal point. Once everthing was dry I fussy cut the Gardenia and adhered it to my panel. The sentiment is also from Altenew, Dare To Dream stamp set. I heat embossed it and adhered it to my panel using foam squares. for a little added interest and sparkle I used peachy sequence from Simon Says Stamp.

Almond Blossoms

Alex’s attention to intricate details and delightful themes, awakening the imagination. radiates through these gorgeous almond blossoms. Almond blossoms are extraordinarily beautiful and while I am no Van Gogh, who so beautifully painted almond blossoms in the South of France in the 1800’s, I wanted a very delicate no line look, to represent the beauty of this flower.

To begin I lightened the ink on my printer and I colored these blossoms using my markers I use three interchangeably Copic, Altenew and Ohuhu. Once the marker stage is completed I move to the pencil stage blending and giving shadows where needed. I use a white gel pen for highlights and a little white gauche sprinkled here and there, always makes everything better. I trimmed all my panels and adhered them to the base using glue.

Kokeshi Doll Mitsuki

I love these dolls and plan creating with all of them all. For this card I colored Mitsuki using my markers and pencils and once again I used a background stamp and clear embossing powder. this time Hero Arts Patterned Lanterns Bold Prints and the sentiment is also from Hero Arts, Ink Painting Scene stamp set. I felt that the addition of the black ribbon gave a texture of sashes. I love the traditional look. I heat embossed the sentiment onto the panel and as the embossing powder fell I noticed it subtlety caught the pattern on the background. I loved the effect the little grains of embossing powder falling where the may emulated beauty and grace. I added some sequence for a little sparkle.
