Beautiful Florals

“To see the world in a grain of sand and heaven in a wild flower, hold in infinity in the palm of your hand and eternity in an hour.
William Blake

Hello, Hope all is well! Today I have created two cards using the beautiful floral images from Alex Syberias new collection! Breathtaking is all I can say, her designs are absolutely a dream to create with!
Chinese Peony
For this first image, I colored the flower using pencil crayon and odorless paint thinner! This combination will give a smooth almost marker like appearance. I always use Recollections 110lb cardstock for coloring but to be honest in the future for my pencils I’m going to be experimenting with some different types of paper. This is an A2 card so the green cardstock is 4 1/4 x 5 1/2. The lattice is so pretty it’s a die called Lattice from Whimsy Stamps. The adhesives I used were foam tape and Nuvo Glue. The sentiment is from Tim Holtz and I almost always use gel pens and sequins to add sparkle and interest.

For my second card I used my new favorite Karin Brushmarkers. These are so fun to work with but you have to have the right paper! I have found the best paper is hot pressed watercolor paper I have used Bristol Smooth but still prefer the hot pressed. I did do some shadowing and highlighting using my pencil crayons. The Thanks die is from Simon Says Stamp and the butterfly is from Tim Holtz Botanical Ephemera set. Tim Holtz has some amazing stickers, sentiments and ephemera that are some of my favorite to use. This is an A2 card as well.
