Big Wish

I was so excited about Whimsy Stamps New Release for July. One of the stamps was the gorgeous Elegant Butterfly and matching die, its stunning! I created quite a few cards using this butterfly, the first being this vintage mixed media A2 sized card! Oh did I mention there is an A2 envelope die, yeah totally awesome!

Let’s Make the Card

To begin I blended Distress Oxide Inks on my panel. Mainly Salvaged Patina, Rusty hinge and Vintage Photo. I then used the Speckled Star Stencil and Salvaged patina to create the bubbles. I stamped flowers randomly on the background using the Red rubber Gerbera Daisies Background Stamp. I created the little butterflies by making a stencil from Slimline Scalloped Edge Pocket Die Set, then simply applied crackle paste, and I loved the effect.

The Big Hugs Die set was perfect for my Elegant Butterfly, and I just had to make everything sparkly! For my elegant butterfly I used Wow Embossing Powder and the same Distress colours as the panel with the edition of Black Soot. I added a little bit of red to the center of my butterfly giving the appearance of heart. As always I splattered everything, stamped wishes in black ink. This is from another butterfly set Butterflies Clear Stamp Set. I then adhered all pieces including the eggshell pearls and I love this card! To accompany my card Whimsy Stamps now has an A2 Envelope Builder oh my word its amazing! Simply die cut glue and use!
