Kaboom! Whimsy Stamps Mini Release
Kaboom! Whimsy Stamps Mini Release

One of the items that Whimsy Stamps has newly released is a very cool cubed die set. The set contains one straight die where the cubes are connected and another where the cubes are apart! I right away thought of some movie or comic strip, where boxes where exploding and some super hero was there to save the world! If only it were that easy! However Whimsy Stamps has this amazing stamp called Bam Your Old that can fulfil all your super hero needs. It was exactly what I needed to create my dramatic scene!

Making The Card
This card is an A2 sized card measuring 4/14 x 5 1/2. I wanted my base to be the newly released Bokeh Bliss pattern paper, so cut I that to size. I then cut a piece of Bristol smooth a little smaller. I blended three mixed media inks, Ruby Red, Coral Berry, and Frosty Pink. Once dry I stamped the Exclamation Background stamp on my panel using a black pigment ink.

The next step was to stamp and colour my images from the Bam You’re Old Stamp Set! I used my alcohol markers for this. I then die cut the cubes and created the illusion that they were falling, by gluing them together on an angle. I then adhered a piece of acetate to the box frames. I used Darice thin strip foam tape but I still needed to cut it and I don’t like the white to show against the black so I will be ordering black foam tape as soon as possible as I use a lot of black card stock. I’m not sure why it never dawned on me before! Ok back to building the boxes, so once the strips were on I carefully placed the little snowballs inside and sealed up the back with more acetate, to give the see through appearance. You could put anything you want in the boxes, sparkly would work too!

I stamped the sentiments and coloured the word Kaboom! The other two sentiments I stamped and cut out realizing this really does look similar to a comic book page! I carefully glued all the pieces to my panel and the panel to the base. There you have it a super hero card using the new Cubed Die Set from Whimsy Stamps. I know I will be using these cubes for many many projects to come! I have listed below supplies I have used!
